  • March 24, Saturday: Programs committee event. Producer Rae Chang presents "Autumn Gem," China's first feminist. Diablo Country Club, plated lunch.   • Saturday Sept 10 - click for details annual fall kick off buffet brunch: The 2011 Danville-Alamo AAUW Membership Brunch will be at the Crow Canyon Country Club, 711 Silver Lake Drive, Danville, CA. It will be held 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 pm and the price is $27.

  • Sunday, Oct. 23 - Northern California AAUW Fellow Speaker's lunch, Crow Canyon.


  • Saturday, November 5, plated lunch. Crow Canyon. Programs committee presents: "Seneca Falls" featuring Bay Area's Louise Vance, teacher writer/director/producer of "Seneca Falls," the award -winning documentary of a high school acting troupe's trek to the birthplace of women's rights in America. We will also celebrate the passage of the 19th amendment and Elizabeth Cady Stanton's birthday, Nov. 12. (Stanton was the first to call publicly for women's right to vote.) Co-sponsored by Contra Costa N.O.W. and Contra Costa Comission for Women.

  • January 29, Sunday, 2-4 p.m., Inter Branch Council program on "Human Trafficking". All branches in Contra Costa will be participating.


  • Feb 7, Tuesday evening, dinner. Delta Kappa Gamma-Zeta Zeta and AAUW Pleasant Hill-Martinez and Danville-Alamo-Walnut Creek - annual Fellow speaker program.

    (The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International is a professional honorary Society of women educators. ZetaZeta is a California chapter of key women teachers who join with Danville-Alamo-Walnut Creek AAUW branch and Pleasant Hill-Martinez AAUW branch on Educational Fellowships.)
    Social hour: 5:30 p.m.dinner: 6:30 p.m.

    2. Grilled Atlantic salmon
    3. Vegetarian is also an option)
    dessert is raspberry jack (Dryers vanilla ice cream, raspberries, whipped cream.
    Meals are $34.50; all dinners include coffee, tea, bread, and tip. Mail checks for $34.50 with meal selection to: DKG Reservations, Denise Dolan, Box , Alamo 94507

    Reservations need to be post marked by January 31.


  • Feb 25: Exploring Your Horizons, Diablo Valley College, San Ramon Campus

    Expanding Your Horizons in Science and Mathematics. conferences nurture girls' interest in science and math courses to encourage them to consider careers in science, technology, engineering, and math.


  • March 3, 2012, Saturday, 9:30 am: Learn about AAUW

    All members who would like to learn more about the many facets of AAUW, please plan to come to our New Members Brunch on Saturday, March 3 at Carol Highton's home at 9:30 am.

    AAUW has our own language: EF, LAF, Tech Trek, Expanding Your Horizons, Great Decisions, IBC, AAUW Funds, etc. If you are interested in learning about these programs and becoming more involved, please plan to join us even if you have been a member for several years.
